DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY CALORIES YOU BURN WHILE CLEANING HOUSE?

With everyone posting their workout posts all over Instagram, it's hard not to feel guilty because you already cancel that gym membership since pandemic started.

Yes you can take exercise outside of gym by exercising outdoor, but how about if when you have your hands full and your domestic helpers just simply don’t show up? You can boost your fitness just by keeping your home clean and tidy.

Based on simple research online, we found that the average person can burn up to 220 calories for just half an hour of simple housework, which is the same as a high impact aerobics class, and indeed more than a yoga class.

Carrying grocery upstairs came out on top (the heavier the better) with sweeping and mopping burning a lot of calories, as well as washing the dishes – particularly when carrying them to and from the table.

You'd have to clean for quite some time for it to take effect, but it all adds up.

Here are the lists of house chores activities with calories burn.

Mopping floors can burn 170 calories per hour.

Sweeping burns up to 156 calories per hour.

Cleaning surfaces can burn up to 136 calories per hour.

Vacuuming for an hour burns 170 calories.

Carrying grocery up the and down the stairs can burn up to 440 calories an hour.

If you're looking to work harder, pop on some music while you're mopping and dance it out like no one is watching.
